Be Fabulous!

Today I was hanging out with my friend Sammi. She is obsessive, dramatic, hilarious, and fabulous. She told me that she was trying her best to incorporate "fabulous" into her everyday vocabulary as well as calling people "Rat" like Audrey Hepburn's character in Breakfast at Tiffany's. The things this girl decides to do.... Something struck me though about her conviction and determination to use the word. She literally must have said it seventeen times in two minutes. So I did the only thing any sensible person would do: I googled.

Dictionary.com gave me four definitions. There were two that I felt applied considering I knew she wasn't ever going to be referring to myths and legends. The first definition says, "almost impossible to believe; incredible" and the second definition says, "Informal. Exceptionally good or unusual; marvelous; supurb". I then proceeded to look at the image results that were playing peek-a-boo on my computer screen. You know what came up? This...
Call it irony or a coincidence or whatever, but I just thought I'd share it with you guys.

So what does it mean to be fabulous? As much as we wish, we can't all be Audrey. And I doubt the security guards at Tiffany's would allow anyone to eat a chocolate croissant over the diamond infested glass cases. Ah the high life. Fabulous. Fab. Fabu. Does it mean impersonating Sharpay Evans from High School Musical? I mean, after all, she does sing a song called "Fabulous." Does it mean owning the most luxurious items one can find? One hundred dollar minimum? Is fabulous a social status? I don't know if fabulous can be unitedly defined, but I do know one thing about being fabulous!

Being fabulous is being yourself.

Is anyone surprised by my cliche answer? No? Good. You shouldn't be. Why? It's the truth. Leave it to me to be sucked into Pinterest's tornado of distraction, but I found this:
I just kept thinking how perfect is this quote for what I was trying to convey to you all! I keep saying "you all" and "you guys" as if I have a million followers, but let's be honest... I have four. And what a lovely four they are! Look, here's the thing: you have to love yourself in order to be fabulous. That's the bottom line. The grand finale. No ifs, ands, or buts! You can't disagree with me because you know I am right. Yeah that's right. I know you hear me. Just make me one promise, okay? Promise that you will look at that perdy face in the mirror (at least once a day) and say to yourself, "Helloooooo gorgeous!" or whatever encouraging catch phrase you prefer. I like to use, "What's cookin' good lookin'?" Gets me everytime. Muchas Gracias amigos! (I took French so if that's not how you say Thank you friends, well, that's a shame).
