fierce

I encourage you all to find your inner spirit animal to help you through any stressful times. This guy knows what I'm talking about. Ain't that right, Raja? (Aladdin, anyone?) But seriously. Find yours. It's empowering.

Oh my.

Oh my. It has certainly been a while since I've written on this sucker. Just over here having a not-so-pleasant day so I figured I should stick to my "eternal optimist" self. Though, I'm digging really deep here for this one.

Google puppies. Yup. Do it. Don't ask why. Just do it.

You're smiling now, aren't you? Thought so.

You're welcome.

Spring and Sunflowers

It's that time of year again. Spring is stretching her arm as far as she can trying to grab my hand. Our fingers only brush, not enough to connect and let me pull her around me. She gets closer everyday, though. Only a matter of time before she is able to share her warmth with us all. And the flowers. Oh, how I can't wait to see them bloom!

What is your favorite flower?

Mine is a sunflower.

I love how they face the sun.
I love how they soak up the happiness that drips from its rays.
-and how they use it to paint their petals.

I love that they symbolize loyalty (my favorite quality).
I love that they are passionate.
I love that they remind me of summer.
I love that they bring me joy at the sight of even a picture of one.

I am wonderstruck by sunflowers.
I am enchanted by them.
I am their kindred spirit.

Plus, yellow is my favorite color.

Collage. (A Collage of College)

Wow. I can hardly believe that my first semester of college is over. Donezo. Finished.

Is it just me, or did time fly? Is Christmas really in 12 days? Santa, if you're reading... I've been VERY good. (That's beside the point). All I really have to say is: I am so blessed.

I have made the most incredible friends this past semester. I can't even begin to imagine what next semester holds for us all... I can just tell it's going to be good.

With all the opportunities I've had, memories I've made, and relationships I've built, I know without a doubt I'm able to call the University of Arkansas home.

Thanks to all who have made this first half of my FRESHMAN YEAR (weird...) so fantastic. Can't wait for the next half to be even better! Cheers to us! Love each and everyone of you!

Fallin

Today is a beautiful day. Fall is here (yes, I know it has been for a few days now) and the leaves are starting to change colors. As much as I love summer (I'd marry it if that were possible) I think I'm starting to love fall more. I never thought those words would come out of my mouth, but being on the University of Arkansas campus at this time of year, I've fallen like the leaves that hit the ground. Except for me it's not the slow, whimsical float to the pavement, it is a fast, wind-knocking-your-breath-out fall.

So if you're not outside enjoying today, get your big ole bootay out there. I'd say jump in a pile of leaves or something, but therer aren't enough leaves on the ground here to do that. Otherwise that's what I'd be doing.

On a side note, 11 days until I get to see my family and my favorite person in the whole wide world!

Love today. Seriously. Love it like you love your dog. If you're anything like I am, you love the shit out of your puppy. So love the shit out of today and thank God for it. Yeah, that's a good idea. Do that.

Begin Again.

Listening to Taylor Swift's newest single, "Begin Again," for the umpteenth time has got me thinking about new beginings. How lucky are we that "when one door closes, another opens." If you don't like your reputation in high school, you have college to change your image. When you get dumped on your butt, you have time to regroup so that when you finally go out on another date you can start over with the new guy.

There are so many times in our lives when we'll screw up and make mistakes. For example, I missed a class today because I turned off my alarm rather than pressing snooze. I'm not one to make excuses for myself even though I can think of a shopping list of reasons why it happened. Instead, I will learn from my mistakes and make it right the next time. I get the chance to begin again tomorrow morning.

Learning from your mistakes is one of the things that makes life worth while. I mean sometimes your greatest mistakes are your fondest memories (until of course that second that turned it into a mistake). I don't believe in accidents. I mean, I believe in car accidents and walking into a tree by mistake when you were texting and walking simultaneously (there needs to be a law put in place for this, very dangerous) but I believe these are all chances to learn.

Ask anyone older than you. Did they learn from there mistakes? I'm assuming most have. It's how we grow and become the people we are meant to become.

Another Sunday Pick-Me-Up

I think it is fair to say that today is one of those days where all I want to do is snuggle up with my puppy on my couch and watch romantic chick flicks with a box of Kleenex on the side table to my left, a bowl of popcorn on my lap, and some sort of chocolate concoction sitting on the coffee table ready for me to switch of between it and the popcorn. You all know how satisfying that salty and sweet combination is. Don't deny it. Now as appealing as this sounds, it's partly impossible. I can't go just hop in my imaginary car and drive ten hours to see my puppy or sit on my couch. So instead I will sit on my twin bed with my pillow pet. Not quite what I had in mind, but a sufficient substitute. Unfortunately, I can't even do this today. I am a slave to my computer, solving countless algebra equations. I'm also buried under my textbooks, studying and trying my best to absorb any amount of information. So, I need a pick me up. I don't like coffee, but I do like pinterest. I'm assuming I am not the only one who saves an entire week's worth of homework for Sunday. In that case, you all may enjoy these too!
 Persevere!
So funny!rolls!
