40 Days, 40 Nights

Anyone else look in the mirror today and think, Woah. How did I get dirt on my forehead? Did I sleep walk into a chimney? Was I trying out a new make-up technique but it went horribly, horribly wrong? Oh! That's right! It's Ash Wednesday. Duh. Maybe it's just me.... Either way, today marks the beginning of the season of Lent! If you are Catholic or Christian you know that this means giving up something. That being said, Goodbye chocolate! Goodbye junk food! Hello working out every day and being kinder to the demon child that is my nine year old sister.

What else does lent mean? No meat on Fridays. Fortunately there are fish options at lunch... pizza it is! My life would be significantly simpler if I wasn't a picky eater. So why am I writing this post today? To rant about lent and all of its hardships? To preach about my faith? You may also be wondering why I haven't posted an inspirational post in a while. Well, this was going to morph into an inspirational post, but I'm feeling like it'd be a bit of a stretch. So let's just leave it as a string of random thoughts that are somewhat related but not really.
